“A story has no beginning or end: arbitrarily one chooses that moment of experience from which to look back or from which to look ahead.”
Graham Greene
One of the most exciting things that I anticipated for starting our small family farm was to have our own logo. How cool is to have our own logo to use everywhere!!! I wanted to make all kinds of things with our logo on them, and I still do. Someday I will make flower buckets with our logo (thanks Jan for your fabulous idea!)
I found this writing in my little note book. I wrote this some time in January 2020, about a year ago.
I was a lazy gardener in a sense that I always deferred to Mother nature to take care of matters. Since we are fortunate to live in an area where rain is not an issue most of the growing season (though it rains sometimes too much in Spring and we could have a dry spell in late Summer), I didn’t water my garden most of the time.
Fall is as busy as spring. We have been clearing the beds, tucking some plants away for winter - digging dahlia tubers and potting up heritage mums -, planting spring bulbs, and making more farm beds. My lower back and shoulder muscles are sore from all the bending, digging, raking, lifting, carrying and planting.
Last summer was hard for me. We were not moving flowers as much as we would like, though I felt our bouquets were gorgeous.
