Dreaming spring

Fall is as busy as spring. We have been clearing the beds, tucking some plants away for winter - digging dahlia tubers and potting up heritage mums -, planting spring bulbs, and making more farm beds. My lower back and shoulder muscles are sore from all the bending, digging, raking, lifting, carrying and planting.

We had a really nice spring this year. The gentle warm days stayed with us for a while and all the spring flowers lasted much longer than usual. If the weather gets warm then hot right away, all the spring flowers open as if they are in a race and they are gone as fast as they come.

I hope all our hard work will bring many beautiful flowers in the spring and that spring will stay with us for a while. Since it is going to be our first spring at the farm, I will be taking a million pictures to capture the season. Meanwhile, let us dream a glorious spring while looking at the flower pictures from my previous garden.
